Baking Cookies in the Car

A couple of years ago, I read a "news" story about a woman who baked cookies on the dashboard of her car and have always wanted to try it out.  It has to be 95 degrees or higher outside to work well and today was the day!!

We placed ready-to-bake cookies on parchment paper on a metal cookie sheet.  We protected the car dash from the hot metal with pot holders.  We placed a meat thermometer beside the cookies to see what the temperature rose to.

After 30 minutes, the cookies looked like this.  They were melting and spreading out.  The thermometer said it was 160 degrees in the car.

After 3 hours, the cookies appeared to be done and so we brought them out and ate them.  Yummy!!!

Cool!

Here are some step-by-step instructions.
