When you enter this site, you will first watch
a brief animated, narrated, captioned explanation of your mission --
to design a satellite! You will need to ask the people of Littleton
for advice on how to:
*Get into orbit
*Make power
*Point at earth
*Relay signals
Each person will have a suggestion for you.
For example, for getting into orbit, you can choose between a helium
balloon, a regular balloon, and a slingshot. All of these sound
impossibly zany at first, but for each task there is exactly one
correct answer. After you have chosen the four best ideas, you can
go ahead and attempt to launch the satellite.
Hint: The items that the Littleton citizens
suggest are not the actual items you will use on the satellite;
rather, you need to consider whether or not you can apply the same
principles for your satellite as the suggested items employ. Also,
even after you have figured out how to design a working satellite,
you will want to try several other combinations to see what will
happen.
