Both Hot and Cold at the Same Time

We tried this experiment to see if we could make 1 glass of water seem both hot and cold at the same time.  It worked!

Pour 1 glass with hot water and 1 glass with ice cold water then put a glass into each hand.  Make sure the palms are in contact with the glasses.  Leave your hands on the glasses for 1 minute.

Then take your hands off and put then simultaneously on 1 glass of room temperature water.  Make sure your palms make full contact with the glass.  You will not be able to tell if the glass is hot or cold.  The hand that was feeling the hot glass will now feel that the room temperature water is cold and the hand that was holding the cold glass will think that the room temperature water is hot.  You actually feel both at the same time but from opposite hands!  Cool!
