Koko - An Amazing Talking Gorilla
The kids and I just watched a fabulous
documentary called "A Conversation With Koko".
For as long as I can remember, I have always
been fascinated with Koko. In fact, when I started college, I
began working on a degree in Zoology and took sign language classes
in hopes of one day getting the chance to work with Koko.
I find it so amazing that she can
communicate
with her caretakers through sign language and can express her
feelings and thoughts.

The kids were so moved with her that we
decided we wanted to help her somehow. We saw on the
website that she has a
wish list.
The kids decided that they wanted to gather items she wants and
send them to her. We already contacted the Gorilla
Foundation and they sent us an email thanking us and sent their
mailing address. We're excited! Koko enjoys sidewalk
chalk, paint, dolls, stuffed animals, etc.
